Frisians on Show.

With my friend here on holiday at the time, we all set off to an international Frisian show. These beautiful Black Beauties are such lovely animals. There were a few foriegn horses present but most were local. Still, I was well impressed with the standard, there being classes for mares, foals, stallions etc...

Luckily, the weather was OK, not too hot, and we had a good time meeting and chatting with a few owners. (Andrea)

A First for Alia - Horse Parade in Town

Our little town, Alia, has taken to organising a host of festivities this year. The major proudly announced the calendar of events and this was duely printed and displayed in all the startegic places in the village.

First event was to be a Horse Parade held in June. We popped over with some guests we had at the time, and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We sat outside our favourite pizzeria, downing several beers and watching the world and thier horses go by. I choseto show this picture of the little boy because I think the coloured pony is particularly interesting. I havn't seen many with that much colouring. Also, it shows how the whole town and families pitch in to enjoy this event. (Mark)

Figit the midget.

After Pippa's hamster sad loss, it was only to be expected that she should clammer for another. Because hamsters have short lives, I thought of suggesting a guinea pig instead and Pippa thought that was a great idea. Little was I to know that guinea pigs are so out of fashion at the moment and it took a lot of searching to finally come across one. As always, Pippa had to tame the beast and "Figit" (Pippa's choice of name!) had to go through the usual process of getting used to playing with the dogs, watching TV, etc... She now lives happily with Shasta (the rabbit) and is one tame guinea pig. (Mark)
